We’re Anna and Vitaly Podoliak, the husband-and-wife team behind Purity Weddings.

Born and raised in Siberia, our story together actually started far from home. We met in Prague when we were 16, both there on school trips with two different schools, completely unaware that we were actually from the same city. We started dating once we returned home, and a year later even ended up attending university together.

While pursuing our Bachelor of Arts degrees, we both became increasingly drawn to visual storytelling. Anna grew up taking painting classes and later discovered photography, while Vitaly gravitated toward filmmaking, influenced in part by his background in music. After graduation, we both went on to work in the fashion industry.

A few years - and a few friends’ weddings - later, we found ourselves drawn to wedding photography and filmmaking. It brought together everything we loved: beautiful imagery, fashion, human connection, real emotion, and stories that actually mean something.

Today, our work blends editorial and documentary photography and filmmaking. We care just as much about the fleeting, unrepeatable moments as we do about thoughtful composition, beautiful light, and the details that make a celebration feel entirely its own. We want our couples to look incredible without their wedding ever feeling like a photoshoot.

Our visual approach is influenced by fashion editorials, documentary photography, fine art, romantic imagery from the 1950s-70s, and modern cinematography. At the same time, we never want one wedding to feel like a recreation of another. The people, the setting, the atmosphere, and everything unfolding around us are what ultimately shape the way we photograph and film each celebration.

We’re both in our 30s, currently living in Los Angeles with our two cats - one who made the journey here with us from our hometown and another we found on the streets of DTLA.

In everyday life, we’re both pretty calm and thoughtful. Put cameras in our hands, though, and you’ll usually find us smiling, energized, and completely immersed in what’s happening around us. After all these years, we still genuinely love what we do - preserving not only how a wedding looked, but how it felt to be there.
